I was born in 1979 in Leningrad.
I started my art education at the Children’s Art school
named after Sviridov and also was into the mountain skiing.
But when I had a choice of sports and art future,
I decided on the art and in 1994 I entered the Art College
named after Roerich from which I graduated in 1998.
From 1998 to 2004 I continued my education at
Academy of Art, Sculpture and Architecture
named after Repin, department of fine painting.
In December of 2004 I held my first personal exhibition
where I displayed my landscapes and portraits
on Russian and Orthodox themes which are dear to me.

When creating, I made trips where I could learn a lot.
I work in realistic genres.
I like to paint the mood and want my works draw only positive emotions.

I still love mountain skiing and have my own favorite place for this - near Elbrus.
After skiing it is a wonderful place to make sketches.
I have two sons who grow and inspire me.
It is so nice to have inspiration so close to you.
I also have taken up another type of art -
making textile dolls with which I also participate in exhibitions.

The works of an artist form Saint-Petersburg Mariya Lazareva
are connected with traditions of realistic school of painting.
Study at the Art Academy created that basis
on which a new manner is born which has both the best traditions
of the school and contemporary vision and perception.
Her works are known for the finished composition,
culture of color and her own style.”
