Ilya Bogatov,
born in 1973,
lives and works in the village of Lezhnevo, Ivanovskaya region.

In 2005 he finished Ivanovo Art College named after M. Malyutin.
Since 2000 he has been an active participant of exhibitions.
His works are housed in private collections in Russia and abroad.

Ilya is in love with the place he lives in, in the nature of Lezhnevo,
that is why the main source and theme of his works is this part of Russia.

The Artist works on a few paintings at a time.
While paints on one canvas are being dried,
he is busy imaging the beauty of Russian landscape on another canvas.
The Artist works in oil and pastel.

“I have realized that our region has many beautiful and wonderful places,
which I would like to preserve on canvas.
When I was offered to go to Montenegro,
which is famous for its landscapes,
I refused without hesitation.”

The process of creation a painting is like a miracle - 
in brush strokes you can watch the creation of houses, streets, trees, etc.
Painting is the favorite activity of Ilya.
And he is happy that his works are appreciated.

His three sons look up to their father and already paint.
Perhaps, soon the galleries will display the works of the whole dynasty of painters.
