I am a plein-air landscape painter and a Master of pastel.
Since 1988 I have preferred pastel and in 2006 I became a member of the International Association of Pastel Societies.
I have had many international and domestic exhibitions and sales.

I am mostly a landscape painter.
I admire nature - God’s world in all its manifestations.
When I see a scene that is particularly attractive with bright sunny spots,
or a stunning color of water, or gloomy winter dusk,
I feel regret and even guilty if I do not put this onto paper.
So I always carry an easel, pastel sheets with me and am always ready for a sketch.

I am convinced that to get a successful landscape work you have to make at least a drawing
but it’s much better to do a colorful sketch from your chosen vantage point.
It is the basis of your personal perception of nature.
That, as well as where and how you select your own point for sketching,
is the main ingredient for your work.
Later you can use photographs.
Choosing a perfect place can take more time than sketching itself.

Sketches help to learn about nature and they are basis and the construction materials for my imagination.
