My parents decided that I should go to art school as a child
because I loved to draw all kinds of spaceships and cars with a blue pen. 
I did not like to draw at school as artworks “on the theme” were boring to me.
I could not be proud of my works because I did not like to paint still-lifes and plaster heads.
After school I was going back home and drawing there what I really love: spaceships, for example.
But at 17 years old a new school teacher appeared in my life – Daniil Timoshenko,
and for the first time I began to get satisfaction of what I was doing.
I got excited about painting !    

 

 

 

Around the same time my passion for music encouraged my admiration of composers who created it.
I was thinking:
“What a great man – Beethoven! He wrote his Moonlight Sonata
and after two hundred years it still appeals to people,
they experience it, and they feel good.
He has done something good for all people, something really valuable.”
Then I decided that I must create something like the composers did,
something that would have the same value as their music and give a meaning to my life.
But instead of music I happen to have painting.

This is how I became a painter. 

 

 

Now I’m interested in the question: how to paint so that painting would give such strong feelings as the music by Bach or Schnittke?
It is the task, which I try to solve when I paint my pictures – how to fully express with paints what stirs my feelings.
How to fully express all variety of these feelings turns out to be the greatest difficulty.
It can be silent contemplative joy, nervous waiting or union of beauty and dramatic effect.
That’s why beauty and similarity with nature for me are only some of the means of expression and disclosure of image.  

     Did you take notice how weather influences on your mood,
how the objects hold memories about what was bonded with them, how the world around us influences on our emotions, senses, feelings?
Compare your mood when you wake up because of the warm sunrays
with when the whole sky is clouded over, and rain is pattering on the windowsill.
In this sense, the nature is a splendid figurative method.
I need only to use it right and to combine with all others, no less significant expressive methods,
that I control, which will helps me to convey exactly what I want to share.
I want to deal with such painting, in contact with which the wave of searing pain will rise to the throat or feelings of joy or peace will overfill me;
that a viewer, seeing my picture, go through it and share with me as its author and performer.
