Tatyana was born in 1958.
Since childhood, she has loved painting and drawing.
Especially she liked looking into the faces and searching for emotions, feelings and stories behind them.
But she never took her painting seriously, thinking that it was just for fun.
She got a degree in English and German and worked at school,
although she soon realized that she had missed an important part of her life - painting.

She hesitated at first because, at age 42,
it was hard to make a decision about changing her life dramatically.
She still remembers the day of Jan. 2, 2002,
when she took a brush and oil paints again.
She had a feeling of bliss when she sank into the world of her soul’s demands.
Along with painting, she has been going through a spiritual search, which resulted in creating icons.
She wanted to feel the joy of touching the Mysterious Spiritual World and to share it with people.
Through faces and decoration of her icons, she shares the energy of the soul who feels the God.
She tries to show the glory of the Upper world with the help of gorgeous materials,
such as brocade, silk, stones, beads and gold embroidery.

She also likes the process of icon restoration.
It is a miracle to see the face appearing more distinctively from the dark surface of an old icon
and to see it coming back to life through her work.

Tatyana has an official blessing for icon creating from Orthodox Church.

Icon creating has become the business for the whole family -
her husband makes the frames,
her son carves icon frames
and her daughter helps decorate the frame.
