“My life is painting”,
I repeat the words of Konstantin Korovin.
Everything started in childhood, from circumstances,
from my native city on the Volga.
Perhaps our unrepeatable Isaak Levitan
left the print of his artistic drama in Plyos;
that is why there are still many local and visiting artists.

 

 

 

 

Recollecting my Mother’s stories about my artistic quests of the childhood,
I cannot believe that I could do something like this:
within less than a week I finished a pile
of 500 paper sheets in paints, pencil and pens;
grew a callus on my finger when I was six years old and still have it.
The choice of my future was obvious even then,
although there were some hesitations.
Now, from the height of my age,
I understand how many talented people surrounded me
and are still around me – Artists, thinkers of their time
and to them I have always had gratitude
and am wondering why I met them,
had friendly conversations or quarrels and was happy,
as I am now.

 

 

 

 

The will of the occurrence convinced me that
it is His will that reins, sets the rhythm of life in both life and creativity,
that is why I look in the direction of the rising Sun with open eyes;
it is important only to hear when the vivifying wind of changes will blow.
To look and see, to listen an hear
is the credo of my consciousness.

 

 

 I see it that the person who is completely devoted to art first studies industriously in the certain tradition,
makes many errors and tries to corrects them, and after some years he falls in love with his errors
as if they are precious findings, begins to understand them and it is then
when the true Artist is born as a person with his own creations.
Painting as a perception of the image, as a transfer of color and shape is always there.
The whole creative potential of a person in both music and visual art is the harmony of their perception.
It is interesting to apply efforts to everything that is why I try to use each material that I can get –
rock, paints, tree, mosaics, plaster, clay.
In the art it is unaccountable activity to learn from other’s errors.
