Vladimir is a Master of city landscape.
Nevertheless, he does not consider himself an urbanite.
He prefers painting the old town with narrow streets and special atmosphere.
He catches the changing of the state.
Most of all, he is attracted to the dusk and rainy weather.  
For this he was called
“the poet of the wet asphalt”. 
He says,
“Asphalt is gray and boring, but when it is wet,
there you can see reflections of the sky, houses…”

 

 

 

 

He also likes painting the Crimea,
but he prefers something which was not painted before or,
at least, a different point of view of the well-known object.

The Artist also likes watercolors which seem to the Artist
“the lyrical, confessional and improvising material.
The paper needs to breathe.
I cannot copy my own watercolor works.”

 

 

 

 

Vladimir was born in Moscow in 1933.
Along with the an art education, which he started in Moscow Art School
and then continued at the faculty of Applied Art in Moscow Textile Institute,
he received a director’s education in the State Institute of Theater Art.
Many years he worked indifferent theaters as an art and stage director.
But the desire to be a free and independent artist forced him to make the choice.
For more than 30 years he has been painting in oil and watercolors.
Favorite themes are city, water, animals.

With age, the Artist never lost the ability to be surprised and discover the world.
And this passion is transferred to those who look at his works.
