Lena was born in the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinsk,
Rostov region in 1970.
From 1987 to 1991 studied in Moscow Institute of Polygraph
and since then she has been taking an active part in art exhibitions and art competitions.
She is a member of Artist’s Union of Russia.

Her works are in private collections in Russia and abroad.

 

 

 

 

Weaving is one of the oldest humans’ activities.
In spite of constant invention of the new materials,
on the genetic level we still like natural materials and handmade things,
sometimes not practical and very time-consuming,
but without them the world would seem dark,
cold and unfriendly.
 

 

 

 

 

Lena has been making tapestries for more than 20 years.
She makes use of various structures in types of wool yarn
which adds dimension to her works
with different ways of weaving enriching the image.

Her latest works accentuate the opportunities
provided by different materials and techniques rather than images.
She tends to abstract forms and notions.

Lena is an Artist and her quest in art never ends;
she creates new artworks, searches for new ways of expression
and watches the tendencies in the contemporary art.
