I was born in Bryansk in 1963.
In 1991 I graduated from Moscow State Art Institute named after V. Surikov,
department of fine painting.
Since then, I have been living in Moscow.
In 1996 I became a member of Artist’s Union of Russia.

I prefer to paint in oils.
I paint from nature and only in some cases I make portraits from photos.
Oils have many advantages to other paints or drawing materials.
Paintings in oils can be of big size, which is impossible for watercolors.
Oils are proof to temperature changes and to sun light,
the lifetime of an oil painting is longer.
Oils are very mobile materials,
they give an opportunity to experiment with texture -
to paint in a more liquid or pasty manner,
and also to use unlimited number of layers
on a dried surface of the canvas.
The palette of oils is more various than in graphic materials.
