I was born in Penza, Russia, in 1963 to the family of engineers.
My childhood was quite a usual one: hockey in winter; beach, fishing in summer.
Because my parents often moved, I had to change four schools;
and because I had to be a new comer to school, I oftentimes had bruises.
My adolescence is remembered by the horizontal bar for training,
especially for a complicated strength exercise and jump.
In cold weather our entertainment was port wine,
staircases and four guitar accords in a-minor.
I took serious lessons in bullet shooting and even achieved
the Certificate of Mastery in Shooting in the USSR.

From 1981 to 1987 (with a break for the army service)
I studied and graduated from the Art Academy in Penza Art College named after K. Savitsky.
My teachers were G. Zhakov, B. Borisov and V. Khudyakov.
I remember the college years with warmth in my heart.
Perhaps, those were my most bright, complicated, unstable,
full of events and interesting years in my life.

    I got married in the 3rd year of the college.
In 1987 I moved to Cherkassy, the Ukraine.
I came to my mother-in-law with the wife and our eight-month-old son
for vareniki (Ukrainian ravioli) and stayed there.
The Dnieper and the velvet-black starry night sky charmed me;
also, in Penza I could not find a work of an Artist, and there lived 9 people in the apartment.
In Cherkassy I got a job in the workshops of the Art Fund of the Ukraine.
For a long time I did anything but painting: wood carving, plaster modeling, stained glass, mosaics.
After the liquidation of the Art Fund of the Ukraine,
I had to learn the jewelry making and for 15 years I created the silver decorations.
I also pain tied, but it was not my main thing to do.
By the year of 2000 painting has grown into my main activity.

In 2003 I became a member of the Designer’s Union on the Ukraine.
Since 2004 I have been teaching drawing in the department of graphics
in the Cherkassy State Business College.
I take part in various exhibitions;
have had 6 personal exhibitions in Cherkassy and Kanev museum.
Since 2010 I have been the member of the National Union of Artists in the Ukraine.

In art I try to keep to the conservative and descriptive stream
and consider the Artist a craftsman first of all,
who is moving towards the perfection for the whole life.
If you are the Artist - then paint, but do not tell in TV shows about your diet
or how to treat the running noses or brew the tea.
I like bullterriers, red haired women, strong drinks and calling things by their real names.
I do not like waiting, telephone conversations,
wet ashtrays and when the TV set works along with the audio system.
