As long as I remember myself, I have always liked painting –
at first  there were knights, pirates, Indians, cowboys,
then sportsmen, especially hockey players.
My parents noticed my enthusiasm
and sent a few of my works to children’s competitions
where some of them took the first place.
I was accepted into a very prestigious school at the Art Academy
for gifted children from all over the country.
My careless childhood was over and the creative work began.

Moscow Art School is a serious one, after finishing it people can teach in contemporary schools.
That means that when I became 12 years old, I already had a profession.
That is why I did not have to choose my future profession,
and I entered Moscow Art Institute named after Surikov, graphic department.
This institute is one of the best in Russia, keeps to the traditions of old Russian Masters
and provides good comprehensive academic education.
Famous and best artists in the country are teachers at this institute.
My teacher was Honored artist O.Savostyuk.

In July I graduated and in 1991 I found myself in another country –
in the Russian Federation instead of the USSR.
Everything changed, I had to learn to live in new conditions.
Some new opportunities appeared - private orders;
I began visiting Europe and taking part in exhibitions of Russian artists.
Also I took into monumental painting, and with my friends and colleagues
I created more than 40 objects (private and public buildings).

I work with various techniques, but my favorite one is watercolors.
It combines both graphic and painting qualities - paper from graphic, methods from painting.
No other material provides the airiness and effect of not being created by hands.

There was time when I really liked Old Masters who were famous for their love for details
without breaking the wholeness of the painting.
It was useful for me in my art and added some variety to my methods
allowing me to use the texture of the paper better.

“Wet” technique allows blending and flowing one color into another,
gives the effect of pearls and play of color hues.
There is an element of accident which makes each work unique.
It requires the vision of
composition, quick and precise work while the paper is wet.
Each artist has their own methods to achieve the desired result.

I like multilayer watercolors where each new layer is applied
after the previous one is dry but still preserves it transparence;
such work does not have the right for an error,
but it allows thorough details in the paining.

With white paint watercolors become thick and are closer to oil painting,
sometimes I combine watercolors with tempera and acrylic.
