I was born in Alma-Ata region in 1975. I started painting since early childhood, sculptured of modeling clay;
sometimes the whole battles were created to surprise my relatives.
When I was in the 5th grade at school, my dad subscribed to a magazine “Young Artist”;
this became my first art education, I still remember the content of those issues.
I did not have an opportunity to go to the Art School and I did not have the artist-relatives,
thanks to this I could avoid the strong influences from other Artists.
In the 7th grade there came a teacher of art in the school,
he was surprised by my knowledge and skills and I became his helper in decoration the school.
This was the beginning of my art career and my ambitions as an artist grew.
After the 9th grade I entered in Alma-Ata Art College,
then in Kazakh Academy of Arts named after Zhurgenov, interior design department.

In 2004 I left working for Kazakh film Production Company and started working in the publishing house.
I was lucky to have a small workshop and it allowed me to create a series of small cityscapes.
They were born as if accidentally, before I had never painted from nature.
My first work was painted near my office in 2005 during the meal break.
Returning from work or on the way to work I went through simple streets of city regions and was charmed by them,
I feasted on the poetry and beauty of Alma-Ata court-yards.
Sometimes in search of nature I left for suburbs to the mountains or parks.
At the same time they were the family outings with children and the wife.

My true creativity begins here and now, beyond time, in reality.
I have many projects in plans. I have lots of work and ambitions.
I achieve a lot, but I always want to go forward, I work in a few styles:
sketches form nature, landscapes, miniatures, portraits, graphics, and experimental works.
I frame a few canvases and it allows me to temporarily stop any work and give it time to ripen.
It allows me to understand its natural direction and meanwhile I switch to something else.

My family, wife Sholpan and two daughters Amina and Aygerim,
and our relatives create a balance between creativity in visual art and creativity in life,
although there is no sharp distinction between them.
