Since early childhood I have like painting.
Having seen this ability in me,
my parents sent me to the Children’s Art School where I was accepted easily.
By that time I was able to copy pictures from children’s books
and make pencil sketches of my dog.

The standards of education at the end of 70ies
were pretty high even for Art schools.
In my first year there are a skull,
in the third-plaster heads and in the forth-real people.
By the end of this school there was time
to choose my future path and I decided to be an artist.
In 1981 I entered Stavropol Art College
with the competition of 13 people for 1 place.
It was not easy to study; the working day was 10 hours.
Many people left but I did not part with the pencil.
Each day demanded around 50 sketches of people.
We drew them everywhere. 
I three options of teaching, design and theater decorations I chose design.

 

 

Main three subjects were drawing,
painting and composition which took most of the time.
I am grateful to my teachers and regret
only of not being very attentive to what they said.
I graduated with success, joined the military, then Perestroika came.
The country was destroyed, so was ideology.
The politics of the state has changes.
The freedom of choice came and I chose painting.

I am happy to have connected my life with this wonderful profession
where I can create and be free.
I take it seriously now. I need to leave something good after me, 
to teach love for art in people, to bring up young artists.
I keep perfecting my level thought meeting with colleagues
at plain airs and other projects.
Each of these give me the push for going forward.

 


 

I love my friends-artists, with whom I look forward to meeting.
When we begin to create together, 
in 10 days we can open an exhibition of 200 artworks.
Each artist makes 2 or 3 sketches per day in average.
I am happy to have a possibility for perfection and being useful for people.
